Our Story

It all began in 2006 when Brennan, a Solatube pioneer since 2004, teamed up with his wife Melody to launch Solar Light Inc. Their vision? To make the world a brighter place, one home at a time. For nearly two decades, they built a legacy of light in Bend, Oregon, serving thousands with unmatched care. Today, Brennan steps back as our founding advisor, passing the torch to a dynamic duo: Jim Erickson and Jason Hathaway. Together, these owners carry forward the mission with fresh energy and deep roots, ensuring Solar Light Inc remains a family-inspired force in natural lighting.

Jim Erickson – Co-Owner

Jim’s story is one of transformation. As the mastermind behind R3 Homes in Bend, he’s spent years perfecting premium remodels, turning houses into dream homes. When he joined Solar Light Inc as co-owner, he saw a chance to do more – to blend his construction savvy with a passion for sustainable living. Jim’s the guy who dreams big, ensuring every Solatube or Redilight installation isn’t just functional, but a game-changer for your home. Jason Hathaway – Co-Owner & Master Installer

Jason’s journey with Solar Light Inc is pure grit and brilliance. With over 20 years of construction experience, he’s not just an installer – he’s an artist with a hammer. As co-owner, Jason brings hands-on mastery to every project, whether it’s a leak-proof Solatube fitted in two hours or a Redilight system banishing darkness from your hallway. His story started on rooftops and in attics, perfecting the craft that’s now brightened thousands of homes. Jason’s the heartbeat of our installs, fueled by a relentless drive to get it right – every cut, every seal, every beam of light. Together with Jim, he’s building on Solar Light’s legacy with sweat and vision.

Brennan – Founding Advisor

The spark that lit the fuse, Brennan’s been in the Solatube game since 2004. His passion for a brighter, more hopeful world launched Solar Light Inc, and though he’s stepped into an advisory role, his influence still guides us. Brennan’s the voice in our ear, reminding us why we started: to bring light where it’s needed most.

You could say sunshine has always followed Brittani. Born and raised in Florida — the Sunshine State — she grew up surrounded by warmth and light. When life brought her and her family across the country to Bend, Oregon, she didn’t leave that sunshine behind — she brought it with her.

At Solar Light, Brittani channels that same radiant energy into every conversation she has with homeowners. As the first friendly voice many people hear, she makes the process of brightening a home as effortless and welcoming as a sunny morning. With years of customer service experience and a heart for helping others, Brittani loves guiding clients through the daylighting journey — from the first question to the final glow of natural light filling their space.
